Dr. James R. Riley, self-published author of the non-fiction, faith-based book, "After the Altar Call, Now What?, identified a problem—a "Get them saved, period" approach to ministry.

However, he overturned this by providing necessary steps to aid new believers in their spiritual growth journey. The principles outlined throughout the book answers the lingering question of "Now what?"

Dr. Riley's passion for youth growth and development was the major driving force behind this publishing project.

The millennial generation is entangled with life's struggles like peer pressure, temptations, inadequacies, and the absence of spiritual role models.

This issues causes them to seek solutions that do not profit or satisfy them.

Dr. Riley's vision for ministry:

Cultivating a mentorship connection between millennials and mature believers and an intense desire to see their lives enriched and transformed.

A common issue that can hinder spiritual growth and development was covered in Chapter 5, "Overcoming Acceptance." In this chapter, he stated that "acceptance is like a drug," creating a desperate need to conform, overachieve, and compromise personal convictions.

Dr. Riley conveyed profound revelations, kingdom principles, and biblical wisdom that were evident throughout the book.

The book's spiritual growth strategies were written with clarity and simplicity while emphasizing the steps to maintain a biblical foundation.

Responding to an altar call is a brave decision; however, it's only the initial step.

Dr. Riley's book, "After the Altar Call, Now What?" serves as a compass that guides the believers' spiritual journey. Furthermore, it equips and motivates them to finally overcome the need for acceptance, face challenges, and resist temptations.

After the Altar Call, Now What? is helpful for new and mature believers.

It's the perfect Bible study session companion that includes a CTA (call-to-action) "invitation to salvation" prayer in Chapter 1.

It also includes real-life experiences of fellow believers who encountered and surviived challenging situations.

The book is chock full of biblical principles that serve as a ministerial tool to edify the body of Christ.

While reading the book, I experienced peace and a renewed faith to see beyond the inevitable challenges encountered in life.

I highly recommend this book to those seeking encouragement and wanting to grow into full maturity in their Christian walk!
